About Good Loser

Good Loser is an independent media project documenting power, work, community, and the people shaping the future.

We believe media should do more than describe what is happening. It should help people understand why it is happening, who benefits, who bears the cost, and what can be done next. Our work focuses on the systems that shape everyday life: from the workplace and the housing market to local government, public institutions and the economy; and on the people organizing to make those systems fairer.

Good Loser is independent and unapologetically build for the working class. We investigate corporate influence, political decisions, and institutional failures. Our work seeks to connect people to the alternatives already being built in communities across the country, telling personal stories that give viewers the context they need to see their own lives as part of a broader civic and economic reality.

Our Mission

We're here to create documentary journalism that helps people understand what's happening, and act on what they learn. We seek to examine the forces producing inequality and instability, but also document resistance, experimentation, and solutions.

We want our work to leave viewers with more than information. We want them to have better questions, a deeper understanding of their communities, and a clearer sense of how change happens. Our goal is to contribute to a stronger public life, one in which more people can participate, challenge entrenched power and imagine a society organized around human needs rather than profit.

Across the country, people are confronting rising costs, insecure work, and the growing influence of concentrated wealth. At the same time, we see workers, neighbors, organizers and communities coming together to create new forms of solidarity, fighting for a more democratic future.

Why "Good Loser?"

Sometimes the most important work is done by people who know they may not prevail immediately. Workers organizing despite the odds. Neighbors defending their communities. Whistleblowers telling the truth. Even ordinary people refusing to accept an unjust status quo.

A “good loser” is someone who understands that meaningful change is rarely immediate, that progress is collective and that losing one fight does not mean the cause is lost. It is a commitment to keep showing up, keep learning and keep building. That is the spirit behind Good Loser.
